TEXAS HILL COUNTRY HUMMINGBIRD WORKSHOPS

One day Hummingbird Multi-flash Workshops.  On these one day workshops you will take home a bunch of stunning Black-chinned Hummingbird flight shots and learn about how multi-flash hummingbird photography works.  We will have two multi-flash setups for up to four participants.  Each setup has one photographer at a time, when it's not your turn you can either watch and learn more about hummingbird photography or go to a nearby bird photography blind where you can photograph songbirds such as Painted Bunting, Black-crested Titmouse, Cardinals and other birds.  

Leader: Melody Lytle, Melody is a Hill Country resident and biologist.  She will have the setups all ready for you to take great images and do a presentation after we are done shooting for the morning.  

Cost: $395 per day. 

 

Logistics:  We will meet at 7:30am in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Then we will drive to a close by ranch in the Texas Hill Country.  From 8am to 12pm we will photograph on the hummingbird multi-flash setups and in the blind.  At noon we will go to lunch in Fredericksburg (meal cost not included) then return to the ranch for presentations on processing images and a slideshow of spectacular hummingbird species photographed on multi-flash equipment in other countries such as Ecuador and Costa Rica.  We will wrap up about 3:30 pm.  We can help you reserve a hotel in Fredericksburg if you like. 

Equipment: Either a DSLR or mirrorless camera and a lens.  Zoom lenses of something like 100-400 or 200-500 are the best but a fixed 300 also works fine.  If you don't have a suitable lens and/or camera we have some we can lend out.
