ABOUT TROGON TOURS, INC.
Trogon Tours' trips are focused on bird and wildlife photography and observation.
Tour participants can be either photographers or wildlife observers. We cater to
all levels of photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. Small group size, 4 to 10
participants, means that you will have personalized service. We hire native
guides to help with our trips in addition to your main guides, Nate and Angie
Chappell.
For the photographers each day will feature opportunities to photograph beautiful
birds and wildlife. Wildlife photographer, Nate Chappell, will be available to
answer any and all questions you have about photography. In addition, he will
give tips each day regarding the subjects we will photograph and how to work
different situations. Nate is an expert on most aspects of avian photography
including flight photography and flash use. Each tour or workshop he will give a
presentation on various aspects of wildlife photography. On each tour we will
have a few evening sessions where we will critique some of the photos that we
have taken over the last few days.
Whether you are a wildlife photographer or a wildlife enthusiast you will enjoy our
trips. On most trips we organize other activities for the spouses/companions of
photographers so they generally enjoy our trips greatly as well. While we work
hard on our photography our trips are also a lot of fun. Nate and the other guides
we hire usually have a very good sense of humor. Every question regarding
photography or natural history is welcomed and both beginner and advanced
photographers enjoy our trips.
We stay in comfortable 3 and 4 star hotels and you will typically have the option of
eating western style food or the ethnic foods of the areas we are in.
Transportation is typically by large air conditioned van.
YOUR GUIDES - Nate Chappell is an experienced and accomplished nature
photographer. He is an avian photography moderator for
www.naturephotographers.net , a top rated wildlife photography website. He is
also a contributing author for Nature Images Online Magazine, a blog to which
many of the top bird photographers contribute. Nate has been a nature
enthusiast for 28 years and a serious photographer for the past 10. His work has
been published in numerous periodicals. Angie Chappell grew up in Ecuador and
worked for 3 years as a travel agent for Tower Tours there. She has a great love
for birds and wildlife. In addition, we utilize native guides on all of our tours.
